🌳 What’s Happening?

Clearing the Beech saplings – Image by Ian Fraser
Join fellow residents for a hands‑on conservation session in the beautiful Maryburgh Community Woodland. Together we’ll keep the woodland healthy and welcoming for everyone.
This month only
Immediately before the Tidy Up session we will have the County Recorder for Butterfly Conservation attending and identifying moths that have been collected in a moth trap overnight.
Activities in the Woodland
- Removing non‑native invasive species – targeting Western Hemlock and Beech regeneration
- Pruning overhanging branches that block pathways
- Trimming shrubs to maintain clear walking routes
- Litter picking – bags and basic tools supplied
Expert volunteers will be on‑site to give advice and guidance throughout the morning.
