Clearing the Beech saplings – Image by Ian Fraser
Join fellow residents for a hands‑on conservation session in the beautiful Maryburgh Community Woodland. Together we’ll keep the woodland healthy and welcoming for everyone.
Activities in the Woodland
- Removing non‑native invasive species – targeting Western Hemlock and Beech regeneration
- Pruning overhanging branches that block pathways
- Trimming shrubs to maintain clear walking routes
- Litter picking – bags and basic tools supplied
Expert volunteers will be on‑site to give advice and guidance throughout the morning.

- Time: Start at 10 am; the organized portion runs about two hours, but you’re welcome to stay longer and explore the woods.

Everyone is welcome! Participants under 16 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
