Do you know a Pipistrelle from a Daubenton?

Why not come along to our Bat Walk and find out more about these fascinating, and much maligned, little creatures.  We’ll take a short steady walk around the Maryburgh Community Woodland to see if we can find any bats.

We’ll be using bat detectors to listed to echolocation and will watch the different bat flights. This will allow us to identify the different bat species.

There will be an opportuntity for Q&A during the walk.

If you have any torches you may want to take them as we will be meeting after sunset.

All are welcome. Family friendly event. No cost – donations welcome.

The best weather conditions for finding bats are dry (very light rain is fine), calm/light breeze, warm (above 5C).  If the weather looks to be unsuitable we will postpone the event and will provide an alternative date. Please keep an eye on our website (www.maryburghhub.co.uk) and social media (Maryburgh Community on Facebook) for any updates on this event.

We would also like to thank the Highlands and Islands Climate Festival who provided funding for this event.
