The Maryburgh Community Woodland Group have several woodland clean-up days planned. These are normally the first Saturday of each month. However, as they have been so successful we are planning extra sessions in January and February 2025.
We meet on the grassed area on Birch Drive at 10am and expect the session to last for approximately 2 hours but you’re more than welcome to stay as long as you like.
What we’ll be doing in the woodland:
We thought we’d put together a short video to give some idea of the types of things we’ll be doing in the woodland.
What we’ll be doing in the woodland:
- Removing non-native invasive species – including Western Hemlock and Beech regeneration
- Pruning branches overhanging paths
- Pruning shrubs
- Litter picking
What to wear/bring:
- Dress for outdoors – clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Boots or wellies recommended
- Drink and a snack
For people who want to pick litter the litter pickers and bags will be provided.
